A very special THANK YOU to our D.A.R.E. officer, Officer Jenkins, for your time, commitment, and the impact you’ve made on our students.
On March 25, the MS and HS students who participated in this year’s Junior Duck Stamp contest, Dani, Nolan, Carson, Heidi and Kiera got the chance to visit the studio of Wildlife artists, Adam and Madison Grimm of Wallace, SD. The father and daughter are renowned for their artwork focusing on all wildlife but particularly, waterfowl. Nineteen-year-old Madison has won the SD and Federal Junior Duck Stamp contest several times. Her father, Adam, has won the Federal Duck Stamp contest three times. We were lucky enough to be able to go into Madison’s personal aviary, where she keeps many species of waterfowl that she uses for artistic reference. Students took pictures for the birds for future artwork. In the studio, the Grimm’s explained the process of creating finished pieces which includes a lot of planning and computer photo editing work before the brush even touches the paint!

• 10th Grade – 4.9 pounds

Quarter 4 will feature an exciting Students vs. Staff competition—stay tuned!
There will be a 10:00 am start tomorrow, March 16th, to allow time to clean out from the weekend weather. The Howard CDE has been postponed to Wednesday, and the SDSU Honor Band has been cancelled. Preschool will also start at 10:00 and there will be no breakfast served. Please plan accordingly, Superintendent Felderman
