Sutton Murphy

We want to share an important update and several opportunities to support Sutton Murphy, a Kingsbury County junior wrestler from Arlington, who sustained a serious spinal injury this weekend while competing in Lyman. Sutton and his family are facing a long and difficult road ahead, and our school communities are coming together to show support during this critical time.

Because many of the fundraisers and events are happening this week, please review the information below carefully.

“Sutton Strong” Knight Day – Thursday, January 15
Lake Preston School will be hosting a “Sutton Strong Knight Day” on Thursday, January 15.

  • Students and staff are encouraged to wear Black & Gold and/or a hat during the school day.

  • The cost to participate is $1.00 for both students and staff, with proceeds going to support Sutton and his family.

Sutton Strong T-Shirts
A “Sutton Strong” t-shirt order link will be sent out soon. Please watch for this information on Facebook and consider ordering a shirt to show your support.

Basket Donations for Online Auction
A basket raffle to benefit Sutton will be held during the Kingsbury County Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Friday, January 24th in Arlington. In addition to in-person bidding at the tournament, the baskets will also be available for online bidding, allowing those unable to attend to participate and support the cause.

Community members who are interested in donating a basket are asked to please drop it off at Lake Preston School by Friday, January 16th. Mrs. McCloud will collect and deliver the baskets to the fundraiser organizers.

Benefit Account
A benefit account has been set up for the Murphy's at Citizen State Bank in Arlington.

Thank you for your continued support, generosity, and compassion. Please continue to keep Sutton and the Murphy family in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Mr. Felderman
