Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Traci Graham

Hello Lake Preston! My name is Traci Graham, this is my first year as the Director of Special Education. Additionally, I will be assisting all students as a Behavior Specialist. I am also a nationally certified School Psychologist and entering my 25th year as an educator.

I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I met my husband Larry while attending Northern Arizona University, (NAU). Next summer, (2023) will mark our 25th wedding anniversary! We have three amazing children: Ashley, Hailey, and Steven. In the summer of 2018, my family and I decided to leave the heat of the Arizona desert and move to Brookings, South Dakota. We are so happy that we did as we absolutely love life here!

I graduated from NAU in 1998 with a dual degree in general and special education. My career began as a classroom teacher for second and third grade students. After a few years in the classroom, I transferred over to special education. I enjoyed working with students ranging from preschool to 21. Within a few years I earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from NAU. I continued to develop a passion for advocating for students with disabilities. I returned once again to graduate school to pursue an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from Argosy University in 2012. For the past ten years, I have enjoyed my role as a school psychologist. I love working with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community members.

As a family, we enjoy getting out and appreciating God’s beautiful country. We love camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting. I love gardening, canning, and baking. Additionally, I am an active member of Bible Baptist Church in Brookings. I am a Sunday school teacher for first through third graders and coordinate hospitality events.

I have worked with Lake Preston for the past three years through Northeast Educational Services as your school psychologist. I am thrilled to finally be a part of the Lake Preston team! I look forward to the opportunity to form personal connections with students as well as form partnerships with families and staff this school year.
