COVID-19 Related Announcements

  • To achieve continued success with a return to in-person instruction, school districts must continue practices of transparency with stakeholders around: (1) mitigation efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and (2) strategies to ensure students have access to needed services for academic success. As outlined in the American Rescue Plan Act Elementary & Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ARP ESSER) and accompanying interim final rules, these strategies must be publicly re-evaluated at a minimum of every six months through September 2023.

During regular session, Felderman requested dialog from the board regarding terminating the starting well plan that he had authored to begin the 2020-21 school year. It is Felderman’s intent to return all education and activities to normal after June 1, 2021. This would include not offering distance learning as an option for students during the 2021-22 school year. Board unanimously approved ceasing the starting well plan. The recommended plan for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year will be implemented at the August board meeting.
